Eleven secondary school students whose entries won the top awards in the contest entitled "Our Police" were presented with their prizes at the Police Training School.

Renowned graphic designer, Mr Hon Bing-wah, and the Chairman of Photographic Society of Junior Police Officers' Association, Mr Wong Cheuk-kin, were the judges of the contest which attracted more than 660 entries showing Police officers at work.

The Competition, organised by the Hong Kong Police Force and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, was aimed at encouraging young people to take part in wholesome activities during their spare time and enhance their knowledge of frontline Police work so as to foster better Police-community partnership in the fight against crime.

Expressing his appreciation for the overwhelming response, Mr Tsang said: "A commitment from the Hong Kong Police Force to continue with its modernisation and enhancement of efficiency in frontline work are the key elements of maintaining law and order. However, co-operation and support from members of the public are also indispensable.

"We have been organising a wide variety of activities including this competition for participation by the public in order to strengthen communication between Police and members of the public to enable them to have a better understanding of the professionalism of the Force and challenges faced by frontline officers," Mr Tsang added.

Congratulating the awardees during the ceremony, the Honourable Rosanna Wong said she was impressed by the entries which reflected the participants' ingenuity and good knowledge of the diversity of Police work.
