Following the success of its previous campaign, the Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) has once again joined forces with credit card issuing companies and Regional Crime Prevention Offices (RCPOs) in an anti-pickpocket drive. The campaign was re-launched on June 23 to remind members of the public to safeguard their belongings because abuse of their stolen credit cards could result in heavy financial losses.

Crime Prevention Bureau Superintendent Mr William Coalter, representatives from credit card issuing companies and RCPOs announced the drive at a press conference held at CPB Conference Room. Mr Coalter said that about 1,900 chairback covers with an anti-pickpocket message, 8,000 posters and 100,000 Octopus Card holders with the message of 'avoid misappropriation of credit cards' would soon be distributed to restaurants and to members of the public.
