The Hong Kong Police Marathon Team won the Team event for this year's Standard Chartered Bank Marathon. Out of 114 team entries, the four-man team from the Police Athletics Club (PAC) outran the Kowloon Motor Bus team (second place) and the Fire Services Department Team (third place) to win the prestigious Standard Chartered Bank Trophy. Acting Sergeant Mr Ching Ying-wai led his colleagues - Mass Transit Railway District Police Constable (PC) Mr Lai Hok-yan, Hung Hom Division PC Mr Lo Kin-leung and Kowloon East Emergency Unit PC Mr ChanWai-kei - to a comfortable win.

At a glittering awards ceremony held in the executive offices of the Standard Chartered Bank in Central on Thursday, June 12, the Chairman of the PAC, Planning & Development Wing Senior Superintendent Mr Stuart McDouall, and the Coach, Mr Fung Wah-tim, led the marathon athletes onto the stage. Mr Ching Ying-wai could not be there because of a duty commitment but his three team mates accepted the grand trophy on his behalf.
