In the afternoon on July 1, a Ms Chung became stranded at the Tin Hau Mass Transit Railway Station as a result of crowds of people blocking the concourse. She approached Woman Police Constable Ms Lin Wa-wan and angrily complained that the Police were failing to provide effective crowd management. Despite her aggressive attitude, Ms Lin politely explained the situation.

In a letter to Police Public Relations Branch, Ms Chung admitted to having behaved rudely when making an unjustified complaint to the officer. "She was extremely polite and most sympathetic," she wrote, "I had no right to vent my frustration and anger on an officer who conducted herself in a most professional manner. I am sorry."

Ms Lin told OffBeat: "The lady's anger and impatience at that particular moment was quite understandable. Being a Police officer, I must always treat our clients politely and strive to avoid a confrontation."
