Premier Wen Jiabao attended a flag-raising ceremony on July 1 to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Premier and the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, together with some 3,000 guests, members of the uniformed services and community groups, attended the flag-raising ceremony at 8 am on that day at the Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Police Band performed at the ceremony. There was also a sea parade and a fly-past by the disciplined services.

Hundreds of frontline officers were also on hand to manage crowd control at ceremonies to mark the anniversary.
