Officers from Training Development Bureau (TDB) recently gave a presentation on "Conflict Management" at a workshop to some 300 property managers of a local real estate company.

The workshop was one of the projects organised by the company for its staff to share experience with other organisations, and to enhance their professionalism.

Force Training Officer, Superintendent Clarence Tang, Senior Inspector Ronnie Choi Kwok-leung, Station Sergeant Chan Kai-wing, and Sergeants Li Hon-ying and Lau Lik-ming spoke on various subjects. Their presentations were aimed at promoting "Understanding of Organisation Culture", "Motivating Service Providing Culture" and "Effectiveness in Conflict Management".

The officers introduced the service culture in the Force and conflict management, in addition to the solutions to conflicts by performing the EPPP (Emotion, Problem, Process, Performance) model and CALM (Care and Assistance Is Our Life Time Mission) model management.

Feedback of the presentation was positive, with most of the audience finding the conflict management very useful, especially the CALM model. An evaluation conducted after the presentation showed that a majority of the audience found the contents inspiring, and believed that the management model could apply to their job.
