Officers of No. 4 Platoon of Kowloon West Emergency Unit (EU KW) have interacted with students with a view to fostering better mutual understanding and helping them to become responsible members of society.

Under their "Project Shepherd" in response to the problems of campus bullying, the officers have organised various activities for students, such as football, basketball and team-building activities. Their half-day sports day with students of the Hong Kong Kowloon Chiu Chow Secondary School was so successful that the officers had continued to organise a special two-day event called "Intelligence Enlightening Activities and Seminar" for 480 Forms 1 and 2 students of the school. Besides seminars on the work of EU KW, other activities included an equipment display and information on drugs and team-building challenges.

The special event was beneficial to both students and the officers. Students and teachers who had participated in the various activities said they had gained a better understanding of police work. On the other hand, the officers had developed their teamwork, obtained a sense of satisfaction that their efforts had made a contribution to society, and gained a better understanding of the issues faced by students today.
