APT DIST & EU KW shine in indoor rowing

Airport District (APT DIST) scooped up six prizes in the 2nd Force Indoor Rowing Competition held by the Police Adventure Club at the recent "Healthy Lifestyle Carnival", closely followed by Kowloon West Emergency Unit (EU KW) with five prizes.

More than 150 athletes from the Force and other disciplined services had hotly contested in six events.

APT DIST clinched the championships of Men's Open 2,000 M, Men's Prime Age 2,000 M and Mixed 30-minute Long Distance Relay; second places in Women's Open 1,000 M and Men's 4x500 M Relay; as well as third place in Men's 4x500 M Relay.

EU KW's performances were no less impressive, with winners in Women's Open 1,000 M, Men's 4x500 M Relay and Women's 2x500 M Relay, as well as second places in Men's Open 2,000 M and Mixed 30-minute Long Distance Relay. .

In invitation events, Immigration Department put on great performances, winning the championships of Men's and Women's 4x500 M Relays, as well as Mixed 30-minute Long Distance Relay.

The Police Rugby Team, participating for the first time, scored the second place in Men's 4x100 M, beating strong rivals from Correctional Services and Customs and Excise departments.

After the competition, over 1,000 officers and their families participated in the healthy lifestyle indoor rowing challenge. In the parent-children events held on the second day of the carnival, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang King-shing and his son won the championship of the Family Double 500 M event, while the team comprising Station Sergeant Cheung Chor-ming, his son and 66-year-old father, came first in the "Three-member Family Section".
