Yau Tsim Mong District Social Welfare Officer Justina Ho, along with 14 officers from the Social Welfare Department and 11 from non-governmental organisations, recently visited Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) Police Station for first-hand information on police work and discussions of matters of mutual concern.

During the visit, Yau Tsim Police Community Relations Officer Lim Che-chung introduced the structure of Yau Tsim District, daily operations and the procedures of handling cases, while Ms Ho also spoke about the daily operations of her department and non-governmental welfare organisations. These were followed by unit commanders' sharing of their views and experience of their work with the guests.

The visit provided an opportunity for the police and Social Welfare Department to enhance communication at different levels, including frontline liaison in case referrals, and to raise frontline police officers' alertness to family violence cases.

In a relaxing and amicable atmosphere, both the host and guests had valuable exchanges and discussions, laying a good foundation for closer co-operation and liaison in future.
