The canoeist thanked the officers for saving his life after his dinghy had capsized in rough seas during a canoe expedition at Hoi Ha. He said the officers' prompt action and alertness had reflected favourably on the whole Force.

On the contrary, he wrote to SIP Tsang to thank him for providing information on rehabilitation services for drug abusers. He said he had selected a rehabilitation treatment from one of the institutions suggested by SIP Tsang and is responding well to the treatment.
