The Force's squash team secured victory over a spirited team from the Correctional Services Department (CSD) to claim the title of squash champions of the Corporate Games 2005 on October 9.

Between September 25 and October 9, the Force fielded a six-member team, including SSP Peter Barnes, SIP Simon Lau Shing-chung and WSGT Yuen Shuk-ting, to compete against teams from the public sector (Category C) in the Corporate Games held at the Cornwall Street Squash Centre. In individual events, WSGT Yuen won the championship of Ladies' Singles, while SGT Leung Chi-man clinched the second place of Men's Singles.

On October 9, the Force entered the final with a strong team comprising former Police champion SSP Barnes, rising star SIP Lau and the top Police lady player WSGT Yuen. SIP Lau got the team off to a flying start, defeating his opponent by 2-0 (9-3, 9-2). Next on court WSGT Yuen totally outplayed her opponent by 2-0 (9-1, 9-5). To wrap up the match, SSP Barnes trounced the top player from CSD by 2-0 (9-0, 9-0) to secure the title for the Force by a score line of 3-0 and earn the Team squash title of the Corporate Games.

Many Police supporters led by Police Squash Club Chairman, Chief Superintendent Kenny IP Lau-chuen, Mrs Ip Wong Yuen-kwan, the ladies team convenor, members of the ladies team, and other team members from earlier rounds were present at the prize presentation.

Now the squash team members are looking forward to playing further good games in the upcoming Winter League. All of them will continue upholding the Squash Club's values, and playing with fairness, fitness and friendship.
