Six officers have just obtained a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Management from the City University, setting another example of lifelong learning to Force members.

After two years' hectic studies, Chief Inspector Leung Shun, Senior Inspector Tse Chun-chung, Senior Inspector Ng Hon-wah, Woman Sergeant Lo Chi-lik and Woman Police Constables Lee Ka-man and Chim Mei-sze received their degrees from Mr Leung Nai-pang, Pro-Chancellor of the City University, at a graduation ceremony on November 15.

SIP Ng and WSGT Lo needed to look after their children's schooling, and at the same time to cope with heavy homework for their studies. They noted that good time management was the key to overcoming the difficulties in striking a balance among their work, families and studies. And support by families and colleagues, plus encouragement and motivation among classmates, have helped them achieve what they have got. They cherish and enjoy every minute and every stage of the process of their self-learning.

The course the officers have taken is aimed at, through books and classroom lectures, meeting the quest for knowledge on public policy and management, as well as providing solutions to problems arising from planning and executing policies.

WPC Lee stressed that the course had not only deepened her understanding of management, but also enabled her to apply to work the theories she had learned. She had sacrificed a lot of her free time to cope with very intense classroom work, but considered her sacrifice worthwhile.

Noting that the course had broadened her horizon, WPC Lee strongly recommended the course to those seeking self-enhancement.

Lifelong studies have paid off for the officers
