Officers of Central District Crime Headquarters Victim of theft case involving $3 million worth of jewellery In a letter to CP, the victim said his case was first reported to the District Anti-triad Squad, and the initial investigation engaged more than a dozen of officers from different sections. The performance of the officers handling the case was highly commendable, showing an "admirable sense" of vocation, professionalism and competence. Although investigation is still underway, his case "has been put in good hands", the victim added.

The arrest saved the bank from financial losses and sent a message to the criminals that crime does not pay and the fight against fraud is on-going.

CO Kwok Kin-cheung from Property Office, WFDIV Resident The resident commended CO Kwok for his ingenuity in successfully locating him after a taxi driver handed in the resident's computer and briefcase. Having nothing to go by, CO Kwok turned on the computer to look for clues. As the computer is security-code protected, the only clue that he could see was "BPEP". He then made an extra effort and searched the Internet for "BPEP". Out of many possibilities, he found the resident's company. "I was most pleased and surprised with the recovery of my computer and was very impressed with the combination of good system, training, and individual ingenuity," the resident said in a letter to CP.

The resident added that the suspect put up a violent struggle and the officers were soaked to the skin in protecting members of the public.
PC Siu chi-cheung of RMPU NTS Ex-wife of a missing person The ex-wife greatly appreciated the enthusiasm and care PC Siu showed in trying to locate her ex-husband. With PC Siu's assistance, the man's whereabouts has been established, much to the relief of his family and relatives.
