Force libraries provide new service

The libraries at Police Headquarters and Police College set up a new Knowledge Update Database for Crime and Management at the Knowledge Management Portal in June this year to provide for Force members a quick and easy access to the monthly e-publication - Crime and Management Knowledge Update.

All latest and back issues of the Update will be archived at the database. Force members will be able to access it via 'POINT' > 'Knowledge Management' > 'Knowledge Map' > 'Personnel & Training' > 'Police College' > 'Research Centre' > 'Force Library' > 'Knowledge Update' > 'TRG' > 'RC' > 'FLIB' > 'Knowledge Update'.

The Update will introduce new library items such as books, audio-visual materials, articles, e-books, e-journals and web-resources on crime and management. It will also circulate interesting ideas or developments related to these topics. In addition, it will provide a forum for members to share ideas on these topics with their colleagues.

The Update will have the following major features:

1. Crime knowledge update

* Topics on criminology, forensic science, and terrorism, etc.

2. Management knowledge update

* Topics on occupational safety and health, communication skills, police leadership, stress management, and project management, etc.
