Frontline officers had a busy work schedule on the National Day, carrying out various duties at various locations to ensure that celebration events would proceed smoothly.

Hong Kong started getting into the festive mood when officers joined members of the other disciplined services at a flag-raising ceremony and parade at the Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai early in the morning.

In the evening, officers closed roads, diverted traffic and manned strategic locations as an estimated 300,000 people crammed vantage points on both sides of the harbour to watch the National Day fireworks extravaganza.
