Tripartite sports exchange
A team of 66 Force athletes, led by Chairman of Sports Council, Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung, took part at the 12th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Police and Security Forces Sports Exchange 2011 held in Huizhou, Guangdong, from October 10 to 14.
Deputy Commissioner (Management) Lee Ka-chiu officiated at the opening ceremony, while Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung was present at the closing ceremony.
Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang Kam-moon was on hand to cheer on Force athletes.
The Force athletes pitted their prowess and skills against officers from Guangdong and Macao in shooting, swimming, triathlon (i.e. swimming, distance run and shooting), basketball and football, winning the overall third place and gold medals of Triathlon Group, Women Individual Triathlon and Men's 50m Breaststroke and silver medals of Basketball, Men's 50M Freestyle and Women's 50m Breaststroke.
In Senior Officers' Friendly Matches, the Force won a total of three gold and one silver medal. In Cycling Friendly Match, Director of Personnel and Training Ma Wai-luk took the gold medal of the 10km Single Event while Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung and Woman Chief Superintendent Lau Chi-wai won the gold medal of the 10km mixed double.
In Leader and Coach Swimming Event, Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Wong Fuk-chuen and Coach Wong Tak-cheung took the title. Police Tennis Club Chairman, Senior Superinterdent Cheng Tak-ming, and Senior Inspector Lee Kwok-chung took the silver medal.
The tripartite sports exchange aims at strengthening the friendship and working relation among the three jurisdictions.
