Director of Personnel and Training (DPT) Chau Kwok-leung led a delegation of five members, including Police College Deputy Director Chu Ming-po, to visit the Australian Federal Police College, New York Police Academy, and the Canadian Police College from February 26 to March 8.

For enhancing the quality of detective training, the Force's long-term plan is to establish a Detective Training Centre at an international level. The detective training models in Australia, Canada and the United States are considered a suitable benchmarking. Therefore, the delegation studied the detective training facilities there for planning the future Detective Training Centre.

As well as visiting training facilities, Mr Chau also had discussions with officers at commissioner rank of the three police forces on police training, human resources planning and the possibility of co-operation in online training.

The visit succeeded in opening up more channels for co-operation in training with overseas police forces.
