Police appeal for information on Yau Ma Tei traffic 
accident

    Police today (January 15) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei on January 10 in which a 75-year-old woman was seriously injured and later certified dead.

     About 10am on January 10, a lorry being driven by a 72-year-old man was travelling south along Shanghai Street. At the junction with Public Square Street, the lorry allegedly hit the woman who was crossing the road.

     The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital. She was certified dead at 8.34pm yesterday (January 14). The driver was charged with dangerous driving causing death and will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates Courts on Friday (January 18).

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon West, are continuing.
