TCPU of TCD not only provides citizens with professional advice concerning information security in response to specific enquiries, but also actively promotes different types of crime prevention campaigns that advocate positive attitudes in cyberspace.

a) Clean PC Day: An annual event organised by TCD in collaboration with OGCIO and HKCERT. The objectives of the campaign are to raise awareness of information security amongst the general public, encourage them to “clean” their computers on a regular basis, and to offer valuable suggestions on internet security to computer-users.

b) Fight IT Crime Ambassador Workshop:  Organised by CCB with the active participation of 10 uniformed youth organizations as follows:

• Junior Police Call
• Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps
• The Boy’s Brigade Hong Kong
• The Girl’s Brigade Hong Kong
• The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association
• Hong Kong Road Safety Association
• Scout Association of Hong Kong
• Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps
• The Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade
• Hong Kong Adventure Corps

Through attendance at the workshop participants acquire knowledge in how to promote positive messages to their peers and play an active role in fighting technology crime.

• Technology crime information

  One of the key objectives of the TCPU is to prevent the public from being victims of technology crime.  We are delighted to provide technology crime prevention related information and professional advices to the public for references.

• Publications and other educational materials
  

  The TCPU publishes a variety of materials that carry messages to promote the awareness of information security.

• Security awareness talks and presentations
  

  Officers of the TCPU will regularly hold or also work in partnership with other agencies to deliver talks and presentations on technology crime prevention related topics.
