An Enhanced Structure to Embrace the Future - Hong Kong Police College

About Us

On 1 April 2015, the Hong Kong Police College implements the following key changes to enhance its functional governance and training capability:

  1. The forming of the 3 Schools:

    1. School of Foundation Training (formerly the Foundation Training Centre – preparing officers for the basics);

    2. School of Professional Development (formerly the Professional Development Learning Centre – primarily executive development & command training); &

    3. School of Specialised Learning (formerly the Specialised Services Training Centre – specialized training & learning services).

  2. The upgrading of the Examinations and Assessment unit from a Division to a Centre to duly reflect its pivotal role in the assurance of training quality for recruit, detective and other professional training programmes.

  3. The secondment arrangement of two professional Senior Training Officers from the Civil Service Training and Development Institute to the Learning Services Division in the School of Specialized Learning to enhance the quality of training consultancy and learning services.

The enhancements represent a determination of the College to strive for continual training excellence through the strengthening of its functional structure, the better utilization of Force training resources and the adoption of a rationalized, and international nomenclature convention befitting a forward looking police training establishment.
