Man charged with murder : Wong Tai Sin

Police are investigating into the death of a 53-year-old man in Wong Tai Sin early this (October 1) morning.

Shortly after 2.15 am, Police received a report that a 53-year-old man was found collapsed in a convenience store in Fung Tak Estate Shopping Centre.

The man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.53 am.

Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin are continuing.

The case was reclassified as murder.

Post-mortem results revealed that the man died of internal bleeding at his rear head.

A 24-year-old surrendered to Wong Tai Sin Police Station at about 2.15 pm today (October 2) and is being detained for enquiries.

Police today (October 3) charged a 24-year-old man with one count of murder.

He surrendered to the Wong Tai Sin Police Station yesterday (October 2) afternoon in connection with the death of a 53-year-old man who was found collapsed in a convenience store in Fung Tak Estate Shopping Centre in the early morning of October 1 and later certified dead at hospital.

The defendant will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (October 4).
