Twenty-six men charged with unlawful assembly : Fanling

Police today (February 7) charged 26 men with unlawful assembly.

Following investigations into intelligence gathered, officers attached to the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North mounted an operation at 8 Wo Mun Street in Fanling on January 22, resulting in the arrest of 27 men aged between 17 and 33.

Enquiries revealed that the group, believed to have triad background, was in competition with another faction of the same triad gang over the decoration business in a nearby estate. They were gathering at the above location to show force.

Among the arrested men, 26 of them were charged today and will appear in the Fanling Magistrates' Courts on February 13 while the remaining was released after enquiries.
