Hi, I am Cammy! Did you know that every day, hundreds of airplanes take off and land at our airport? Hong Kong's image as a 'World City' hinges on the safety and efficiency of our airport, which in turn depends on the bravery and professionalism of the Police Airport Security Unit (ASU).

Training for the ASU is tough and yet every year, people enthusiastically volunteer for it. They learn firearms skills and tactics, first aid, search techniques and airport/airplane security methods. Their training continues as long as they remain in the Unit.

Every day, officers of the ASU monitor and deal with problems that threaten the safety of our beautiful airport. They patrol the airport to look out for hidden weapons or explosives and are also ready (anytime) to deal with emergency landings and airplane crashes. Perhaps you do not know this, but ASU officers are also responsible for protecting special VIPs or airplanes that may be targets for terrorists. If a terrorist group attacks the airport, it is their job to pin down these people to await reinforcement from special police forces like the Special Duties Unit. I have seen the fit and disciplined ASU officers. They really are very sturdy in action and are sure to make any evil doers think twice before committing a crime at our airport!

Anyone who is thinking of causing harm at the airport had better beware the ASU is on duty there!
