The first roller coaster was in Russia, somewhere around the 1600s. People would sit on sleds that brought them from the top of a hill, right down to the bottom. Later in 1784, a ride with wheels was also invented there. Now, roller coasters have become much more advanced and they are much faster and have more stunts than ever before.
Some people say that the best parts of the roller coaster ride are from how high you drop and how fast you go. If that is the case, then you cannot beat the 'Top Thrill Dragster' in Ohio, USA. Imagine this: You are sitting in the Top Thrill Dragster as it takes you up over the hill. It stops for a split second and then drops down almost 400ft at a speed of almost 193 km/h! That is faster than many cars can go on the racetrack! You had better make sure that your cap is tightly on your head or it will surely fly off!
