The Police Recruitment Day cum Probationary Inspector Recruitment Express 2013 came to a successful conclusion at Police Headquarters on November 30, attracting more than 1,400 applications.

The event provided one-stop service to applicants, from initial screening with height and weight measurements and eyesight test to scheduling of written examinations for the post of Probationary Inspector (PI), and initial screening and group interviews for Recruit Police Constable (RPC) applicants.
Acting Director of Personnel and Training Ng Tsui Fung-ying and officers from Human Resources Branch shared their work experiences with potential applicants in three seminars in a bid to give them a better picture of the diversity of police work.

Speaking of her satisfaction of serving society as a professional police officer, Mrs Ng emphasised that integrity and commitment are the core requisite qualities expected of Force members and that the Force will select applicants whose personal values align with those of the Force. "I would like to see you take police work as a lifelong career," she told the potential applicants.

The recruitment target of the 2013-14 financial year is over 200 PIs and 990 RPCs.  The Force is adopting a proactive recruitment strategy and will organise more recruitment activities for members of Junior Police Call and youth uniform groups, with a view to attracting more young people aspiring to join the Force.

The Force will participate in the Education and Careers Expo scheduled to be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in February next year.
