The Force hosted the "INTERPOL Criminal Intelligence Analysis Instructor Development Course for South East Asia" from December 2 to 6 last year for 15 delegates from seven Asian and Pacific countries. Officers from the Force also attended this weeklong training course.

Two training officers from INTERPOL General Secretariat conducted the training course, led by Criminal Intelligence Analyst of the Specialised Crime and Analysis Directorate, Ms Nathalie Richard-Bober. The goal of the course was to train up the trainees as a Certified INTERPOL Instructor.

The trainees were provided with the highest level of training to acquire a better understanding of lecture techniques, planning and presentations which included role-playing and hands-on experience.

Ms Richard-Bober was delighted that all the trainees passed the course. "The course is especially designed to test the trainees, particularly in the final stage where they designed and made a two-hour presentation on a topic selected by the instructors.  I was impressed by their very high standard, particularly those of the three Hong Kong officers who had not benefited from overseas training that the other trainees undertook in the past," she said.

At a closing ceremony, the trainees were awarded an INTERPOL certificate, which qualifies them as an INTERPOL Instructor.  Ms Richard-Bober hoped the trainees would use the knowledge they acquired from the course for the benefits of their police forces.
