Police Licensing Office arranges an annual night visit programme for members of the Liquor Licensing Board (LLB) and representatives from other government departments to tour the licensed premises in different Police Districts to get a better idea of the trade and its impact on the environment, and the situations and challenges police officers came across during licensed premises checks.

The night visit of 2013 took place on November 16, with the attendance of LLB Chairman, Mr Yau How-boa, LLB members, and representatives from Food and Health Bureau, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Fire Services Department, Buildings Department and Environmental Protection Department. Led by officers from Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui in visits to clubs, pubs and upstairs bars in the two divisions, LLB members and officers exchanged views on a number of licensing issues.

The visit succeeded in not only improving the co-operation between LLB and the operational units and giving LLB members a better picture of the enforcement situation related to liquor licensed premises, but also providing opportunities for LLB, policy bureaux and departments to exchange views and concerns about regulating liquor licences.
