Following attendance at the Job Attachment Closing Ceremony and a passing-out parade at Police College in September 2013, over 70 mentees and 20 mentors of the Police Mentorship Programme 2013-14 visited the New Territories North (NTN) Regional Headquarters on January 17.

During the visit, Chief Inspector Tsang Kin-keung of Enforcement & Control, Traffic NTN, and Chief Inspector Chan Sze-man of Emergency Unit NTN outlined their responsibilities, job priorities and daily chores to the visitors.

Traffic NTN officers gave a briefing on the latest technologies and strategies to deal with traffic offences, such as speeding, overloading and drink driving, while Emergency Unit NTN officers introduced their operational kit and equipment, including breaking tools and protective gear, and demonstrated the "Tactical Approach To Vehicles" and other operational tactics.

The mentees also toured the Regional Command and Control Centre and took a look at the work of the 999 Reporting Centre.

A highlight of the visit was a sharing session with the Head Mentor, Assistant Commissioner Paul Lau.
