The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) held Crime Prevention Leaflet and Poster Design Competitions for primary and secondary schools in Kowloon East respectively last September.

The champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and 10 merit prizewinners were presented with certificates of commendation and book coupons.

The competitions drew a total of 895 entries and attained the goal of arousing crime prevention awareness among students and spreading anti-crime messages to the public. An adjudicating panel comprising the chairmen and members of the district fight crime committees (DFCC) in Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong and Sai Kung selected 26 winners. Among them, Chan Lap-hung of S.K.H. Lee Shiu Keung Primary School and Siu Sin-yan of HKWMA Chu Shek Lun Secondary School clinched the titles.

The winners were presented with certificates of commendation and book coupons at a ceremony in Kwun Tong Community Centre on January 11. Senior Superintendent (SSP) (Crime) Eugene Yue officiated at the ceremony.  Other guests of honour included Chairman of Wong Tai Sin DFCC, Mr Yeung Chee-tat, and Chairman of Kwun Tong DFCC, Mr Chow Yiu-ming.

SSP Yue hoped the competitions would serve as a platform for students to show their creativity and enhance their knowledge of crime prevention so that they would hammer home the crime prevention messages to their families and peers.
