New Territories North (NTN) Regional Commander Chung Siu-yeung hosted the Year-end Review 2013 at NTN Regional Headquarters on February 10 to brief over 200 representatives from the local community on the situation of law and order in his Region.
 
Among the attendees were representatives from district councils, district fight crime committees, rural committees, district associations of heads of primary and secondary schools, parent-teacher associations, Road Safety Patrol, as well as officers from Government departments.  
 
Speaking at the review, Mr Chung emphasised that implementation of policing strategies depended on the support and co-operation of the public, and thanked his guests for their continuous support for the fight against crime. 
 
Acting Deputy Regional Commander Wong Kin-wah outlined last year's crime trend and introduced NTN's Operational Priorities for 2014. He also emphasised that the existing police-community partnership was instrumental to achieving positive results in combatting crime. 
 
At the year-end review, Commercial Crime Bureau officers briefed the guests on the latest features of counterfeit banknotes, while a security company put up a display of anti-shop theft technologies.   
 
Following the review, Emergency Unit NTN gave a demonstration at the NTN Regional Headquarters Compound on the tactical use of firearms and the tactical application of paramedic expertise to treat serious injuries. At the same time, Traffic NTN also introduced the new Mobile Breath Testing Centre as well as the latest equipment to detect speeding.
