Dear Sirs,

We were involved in a very minor incident in the Hong Kong Airport Carpark where the driver of the car parked next to us alleged that my six-year-old son made a dent in his car when he opened our car door.

We said we would hand the matter over to insurance to sort out as we were not sure but the other driver refused, asked for monetary compensation and insisted on calling the police. The police arrived very promptly at the scene. They were professional and efficient in their manner.  We felt reassured by the police presence.

The police were really kind to the children (I also had a three-year-old with me).  They made a particular effort to reassure my son, who was a bit scared by the other driver (who made comments about prosecuting and suing us and asked for a large amount of money as compensation).  In fact, when we were driving away, my son said the officers were "超 (super) nice".

Follow up action was also very prompt.  Mr Tang phoned us a couple of days later to tell us that the traffic unit had investigated and that no further action would be taken by the police.

Ms Lam
