Eastern District (EDIST) teamed up with EDIST Fight Crime Committee (EDFCC) in organising a "Seniors and Police Join Hands to Fight Crime Fun Day" on February 21 to celebrate the Lunar New Year with EDIST Senior Police Call (SPC) members.

The event aimed at showing care, spreading festive joy and conveying crime prevention messages to the elders. In the event held in Big Wave Bay and Shek O, a total of 103 EDIST SPC members, EDIST Councillors, EDFCC members and local dignitaries joined a sightseeing tour as well as enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch and afternoon entertainments. The Police Band gave Brass Quintet performance in Shek O, which was well received by the elders.

During the event, officers distributed flyers on "Naked Chat Blackmail" and fighting crime souvenirs to the elders and gave a briefing on the blackmail trend and modus operandi. The event succeeded in enhancing not only the confidence and sense of belonging of the elders, but also their partnership with the police in fighting and preventing crime.
