The Road Safety Team of Traffic Kowloon West (T KW) staged an innovative promotion activity, "Road Safety Wing Chun Exercise", at McPherson Playground in Mong Kok on March 15, with the goals of reducing traffic accidents involving the elderly and reminding elderly pedestrians to pay more attention to road safety.

A Wing Chun Kung Fu Master, Mr Yip Chun, has devised a set of easy "Siu Lim Tau" boxing carrying road safety slogans. T KW hopes that elders, taught by Mr Yip, would bear road safety in mind when they practise Wing Chun Kung Fu daily.

Officiating at the event were Superintendent (SP) Ko Shek-cheong from T KW Accident and Investigation Division, Mr Chan Shu-lui, Regional Commander (Kowloon West) of Road Safety Patrol, Mr Cheng Wing-shun, Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of Shum Shui Po District Council, Mr Yip Ho-tung, Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of Yau Tsim Mong District Council, and Dr Cheng Lee-ming, Vice Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of Kowloon City District Council.

Addressing 350 elders, SP Ko reminded them to make good use of road crossing facilities and of the importance of staying healthy.
