The "Police Staff Motivation Scheme - Short Story Composition & Drawing Competition 2014" organised by the Operations Wing of Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region has drawn a good response from officers. The award presentation ceremony was held at HKI Regional Headquarters on March 28, with Regional Commander Li Kin-fai and Senior Superintendent (Special Duties Operations) Cheng Yiu-mo presenting the awards.

Mr Li thanked the awardees for recounting their daily chores in stories and drawings to serve as inspirations for their colleagues.

Police Constable Wong Sau-yin, winner of the Short Story Composition Competition, said he wished to share his experience of carrying out duties in a professional and safe manner during an emergency by recounting how he jumped into the harbour to carry out a rescue operation.

Said Dog Handler Tang Kwok-ho, winner of the Drawing Competition: "It gives me great satisfaction that my drawing would enhance my colleagues' sense of belonging and show the Force's cultures in diversity and service orientation."

Thanking officers for supporting the two competitions, Superintendent Young Chi-man from Emergency Unit HKI said their entries would improve efficiency and productivity, besides fostering sense of belonging.

All the winning entries have been put on display in the lobby of the HKI Regional Headquarters and uploaded onto the webpage of Emergency Unit HKI.
