Marine South Division (MSDIV) organised a Blood and Organ Donation Day at Marine Port District Headquarters on March 20 in response to appeals made by the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Department of Health. The event formed part of the Major Formation Action Plan to promote social responsibilities.

Besides blood donation, MSDIV also invited the Central Health Education Unit of the Department of Health to set up an organ donor registration counter. Over 60 officers from Marine Port District (MPDIST) either rolled up their sleeves to donate blood or registered for organ donation, earning the appreciation of their District Commander Lee Kiu-ki.

In the views of a Recruitment Officer of the Hong Kong Red Cross, Miss Chak, and a Senior Nurse of the Central Health Education Unit, Ms Cheung, the officers set a good example for other members of the community. They pointed out that MSDIV's assistance demonstrated the concept of working in partnership to promote social responsibilities.
Both the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Central Health Education Unit have sent letters of appreciation to MSDIV
