The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island Region and Hong Kong Tramways staged a Joint Crime Prevention Tram Parade on April 26, with Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Li Kin-fai, chairmen of the district fight crime committees on Hong Kong Island, and district commanders of Hong Kong Island Region officiating.

Pitching in for the parade were a singer, Mr Tat Dik, as Crime Prevention Ambassador, and 150 volunteers from Senior Police Call, Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps (606 Squadron), Civil Aids Service Cadet Corps, and Pui Kiu Middle School.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an open-top antique tramcar left Hong Kong Tramways' Whitty Street Depot for Sai Wan Ho Tram Depot, with police officers, district fight crime Committee members and the volunteers distributing crime prevention flyers to the public on the way. The tram parade drove home the message of fighting "quick cash crimes" and technology crimes.
