The Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Mr Thomas Winkowski, paid a courtesy call on Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung on May 9.

During the visit, Mr Winkowski thanked CP for the working relationship between the two organisations, which recently led to the apprehension and extradition of two fugitives from Hong Kong to the U.S.

Mr Tsang and Mr Winkowski discussed a wide range of issues, including human trafficking, training for officers, and exchange of criminal intelligence. They also acknowledged that it was a priority for law enforcement agencies worldwide to continue tackling money laundering. Mr Tsang also took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the U.S. law enforcement agencies' continuous support.

Finally, both agreed that continuation of the close co-operation between ICE and the Force was essential to the battle against transnational crimes.
