The Regional Crime Unit (RCU) 3A of Kowloon East (KE) Region apprehended a member of a cross-boundary syndicate and recovered a necklace on March 4.

 

The day before, a phone scam victim, Ms Chan, received a phone call from a man, who claimed that her son was being detained. Later following the man's instructions, she put ransom money and the necklace at a location. After contacting her family, Ms Chan realised that she had been deceived and immediately made a report to the police. The following day, RCU officers recovered the necklace from an arrested person.

 

Ms Chan called at KE Regional Headquarters on April 30 and presented a banner to the RCU for officers' professionalism.
