For the fourth year in a row, the Force has joined forces with the French Consulate General in Hong Kong and the French International School in hosting an Anti-narcotics Day for the French International School on May 16 with a view to making students, teachers and parents more aware of the problems of drugs abuse.

Officers from Narcotics Bureau (NB), Wanchai District and Police Dog Unit also took part in the event. The first programme was a demonstration of police dogs sniffing out drugs. Following the demonstration was a presentation by NB Senior Inspector Kit Cheng on the common drugs found in the local market and the serious consequences of committing dangerous drug offences. The day concluded with a session for parents, in which Wanchai District Inspector Sabrina Cheng delivered key anti-crime messages to 80 parents.

The Police Liaison Officer at the French Consulate General in Hong Kong, Mr Jean-Christophe Marten Perolin, commented, "Again, thanks to the commitment of the Hong Kong Police to this Anti-narcotics Day, the programme was extremely successful and informative to all students, their parents and teachers."
