To celebrate its 170th Anniversary, the Force staged an exhibition with "Serving the Community Over the Centuries" as the theme at the former Wan Chai Police Station on the weekends between May 31 and June 15, attracting over 8 400 visitors.

Built in 1932, the former Wan Chai Police Station, known for its great historical value and unique characteristics, will undergo heritage preservation and revitalisation. In this regard, the exhibition was also a fitting farewell to the old building.

The exhibition, declared open by Director of Personnel and Training Chau Kwok-leung, was a testimony to the Force's commitments and achievements in serving the community in the past 170 years. It showed the Force's accoutrements, photographs, videos and equipment of different decades, and introduced the transformations of the Force to meet the changing needs of society.

The exhibition also displayed the awards and commendations the Force had earned, including the Five Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo, which underscored its efforts to serve the public, care for the community and Force members, and fulfil its corporate and social responsibilities.

The exhibition was jointly organised by Police College and Police Public Relations Branch, with the assistance rendered by Police Community Relations Offices and volunteers from the Hong Kong Police Old Comrades’ Association, as well as performances by the Police Band. The exhibits were by courtesy of Police Museum, Police Communications Branch, Wan Chai Police Station and members of the public.
