Marine West Division, in coordination with Tuen Mun District, the Regional Crime Prevention Offices of New Territories North Region and Marine Region, as well as Tuen Mun fishermen representatives, offered an anti-crime seminar in Tune Mun Typhoon Shelter for fishermen on June 12 during the China Sea Fishing Moratorium period.

Prior to the seminar, officers visited fishing vessels and offered advice on prevention of burglary. At the same time, they also distributed copies of a flyer carrying messages on prevention of theft from vessels, illegal gambling, as well as telephone and on-line scams. The seminar was well received by the fishermen, many of whom undertook to do their best to help police beat crime.

Besides hosting the seminar, Marine West Division officers also visit fishing vessels to disseminate anti-crime messages
