As a number of industrial accidents have been reported since construction works of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge commenced within the area of Marine West Division (MWDIV) in 2011, MWDIV hosted a sharing session on sea safety and crime prevention on June 17 for 40 representatives from five construction companies responsible for the construction works.

Divisional Commander MWDIV, Superintendent Ian Clark, and Assistant Divisional Commander, Chief Inspector Law Ka-hong, discussed and analysed vessel collision cases, the general causes of industrial accidents and the current crime trend with the representatives, enhancing their awareness of sea safety and crime prevention.

The participants were eager to share their own experiences and views and thanked MWDIV for giving useful advice on both sea safety issues and crime prevention measures. More importantly, they saw the session as a valuable opportunity to communicate with the Police and enhance co-operation.
