The Minister of Police of New Zealand, the Honourable Anne Tolley, led a five-member delegation to visit the Force and call on Acting Commissioner Ma Wai-luk on July 18.

The delegation comprised Acting Deputy Commissioner of National Operations, Mr Grant Nicholls, and the Counsellor Police stationed at the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing, Mr Hamish McCardle.  The meeting with Mr Ma provided the occasion for the Minister to engage the Force senior management in discussions on the continuous need for co-operation between the Force and New Zealand in fighting international crime.

On the afternoon of July 18, the delegation visited the Technology Crime Division of Commercial Crime Bureau and got an update on the situation of cyber crime and cyber security in Hong Kong.

The Force and New Zealand Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding on general police co-operation in February 2013. This high-level visit has consolidated the strategic partnership between the two Forces.
