Regional Crime Prevention Office Kowloon East (RCPO KE) joined forces with the Salvation Army Integrated Service Centre in staging a "Learn using Smartphone" activity at Chuk Yuen (North) Estate Community Centre on July 26.

Through the activity, the "Teens Ambassadors", who were earlier recruited by KE's "Project Teens", taught the elders how to use smart phones and beefed up their crime prevention knowledge. The elders enjoyed talking to the young ambassadors because the latter are of a similar age and have similar interest as their grandchildren.

The "Teens" practised using smart phones with the elderly and explained the latest modus operandi of fraudsters, with a lot of joy and interaction on both parties. By downloading the Hong Kong Police Mobile Application into the elders' smart phones, the "Teens" helped the elders familiarise themselves with apps and crime prevention, hoping they would bring the related messages home and to their friends.
