Western District (WDIST) held a "Fight Crime Exchange Forum" cum "Western District Good Performance Award Ceremony" on September 11 to pay recognition to its officers for their efforts in preventing and combating crimes.
The event attracted a large gathering of guests, including Chairman of the Central and Western District Council, Mr Yip Wing-shing, Vice-chairman of the Southern District Council, Mr Chan Fu-ming, Chairman of the Southern District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Mr Leung Ho-kwan, Vice-chairman of the Central and Western DFCC, Mr Cheung Chun-yung, Chairman of the Western District Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary President Council, Dr Cheng Shing-fung, Western District JPC Honorary President Council Honorary Advisor cum Honorary President, Mr Ng Siu-keung, and over 60 Central and Western and Southern District Council members, DFCC members and community leaders.
The forum started with WDIST Commander Wise Choy outlining the law and order situation in the district. Inspector Shun Po-chun, Officer-in-Charge of the WDIST Intelligence Section, then gave a presentation on the situations of crimes, with emphasis on the modus operandi of, and preventive measures for, various kinds of deception and technology crimes.
In a question-and-answer session, Mr Choy and his officers had a good exchange of views with the participants, collecting views on not only law and order, but also fight crime strategies.
At the event, local groups took the opportunity to present banners, silver plates, souvenirs and letters of appreciation to Superintendent Simon Ho, Superintendent Kenny Wong, and outstanding officers of WDIST for their contributions to maintaining law and order. In response, Mr Choy thanked the community for their long-standing support, especially the District Councils, DFCCs, and WDIST JPC.
