A three-day Train-the-Trainer Course on the Medium Patrol Launch was held for 20 trainers from various divisions early this month. The Course Instructor, Senior Inspector (Sea Standards) Yu Ka-wah, pointed out that all the attendants were experienced Non-commissioned Officers with exceptional maritime knowledge.

The purpose of the course is to provide guidelines on how best the attendants can impart their skills and knowledge to less experienced officers through in-house training in their divisions.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, acting Regional Commander Marine Patrick Hodson congratulated the officers on completing the course. He said mentorship and on-the-job training were crucial to maintaining maritime professionalism. In this connection, Task Books were rolled out recently to document practical seamanship exercises undertaken by staff.
