Airport District (APTDIST) has won the Good Safety Suggestion Award of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) for the second consecutive year. Senior Inspector (Training and Support) Lau Chun-tang from the Airport Security Unit (ASU) received the award at AA's 2014/15 Airport Safety Recognition Scheme presentation ceremony on March 5.

The scheme recognises the concerted efforts of the airport community to provide and maintain a safe workplace at the Hong Kong International Airport. APTDIST attaches importance to officers' awareness of occupational safety and health, especially the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) System. The Commander of ASU has to adjust the physical training programme if the AQHI reaches a very high or serious level. The AQHI is a quick and efficient way to provide airport staff with a safe workplace.
