In a bid to forge closer ties with the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC), Deputy District Commander Eastern District (EDIST) Ip Chi-keung chaired an inter-departmental meeting with NEC community leaders on May 7.

Besides NEC leaders, also present were school principals, representatives from Home Affairs Department, Equal Opportunities Commission, Housing Authority, ICAC and non-governmental organisations such as Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre and Hong Kong Family Welfare Society.

At the meeting, EDIST Police Community Relations Officer Tsang Fan-hon introduced the projects being implemented for engaging the NEC. The meeting concluded with an experience sharing with an ICAC representative. Both the NEC leaders and school principals welcomed the meeting as a good platform to address matters of common concerns.
