A total of 1 651 Force runners took part in "Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics" in Sha Tin on April 26, which is an annual fund-raising event  for people with intellectual disabilities.
 
After Deputy Commissioner (Management) Lo Wai-chung and other guests had officiated at an opening ceremony at the Sha Tin Sports Ground, the Torch Run commenced with the torch leader, HKI Regional Commander Li Kin-fai, together with Director of Personnel and Training Chau Kwok-leung, leading Force runners and their families on a 3.5-km route along the Shing Mun River.
 
The Force raised over $820,000 out of a total donation of $2.1 million for the event, with Kowloon West Region, Hong Kong Island Region and New Territories North Region gaining the honour of being the top fund-raising formations.
