Over 50 members of the Hong Kong Marine Police Retirees' Association visited Marine Region on June 16 in a bid to strengthen ties.

 

Deputy Regional Commander Marine Patrick Hodson updated the association members on the developments of the Region and they were very interested in the vessel replacement programme currently underway.  Mr Hodson also thanked the members for their invaluable contributions to the Force 170th Anniversary Marine Police Exhibition.  

 

The retirees had a fruitful meeting with their former colleagues, sharing valuable experiences and memorable stories.  The eldest member is 93 years old and found the esprit de corps in the Region as high as it was when he retired. By the end of the visit, the association presented to the Region a souvenir bearing a "Marine Police" inscription in Chinese calligraphy.
